One of our BRODA ® customers, Shamus Finnegan at Green Suite Painting, recently sent us some pictures of his off-the-grid cabin currently under construction in the Okanogan Valley. Design builder Goodweather set out to transform this 5 acre farm into an “organic cornucopia” with simple passive design strategies and sustainable ideals including Broda low VOC coatings.
Responsible living in mind, much of the material has been reclaimed from the property on which it sits. Barn timbers, Douglas Fir floor boards and all of the 2×2 siding squares in this clean, modern design are actually 40 year old wooden apple orchard box sides (3/4” plywood) stained in BRODA ® PRO-TEK-TOR Natural Oil Wood Stain Siding Log & Timber (SLT) 231 Pavestone Red & 314 Silver Grey.
The front door is also a genuine relic from a 1913 sailor’s bar in San Francisco, found in a Vancouver Main Street antique shop.
The young family is working together to prepare a clean and organic space to put their roots down and grow. BRODA ® Clarity finishes will provide much of the interior coating, used clear and white-washed, accenting what is present and contributing to a clean, bright future just as our clients here surely are.
This is definitely one for cabinporn.com (which, fortunately, is not what it sounds like).
